There was a special feeling at Ocean State Community Wellness this past weekend as members, families, and community supporters gathered to celebrate the dedication of the newly expanded community garden space.
What started as a vision dreamed up by Pat Padula Morgan has grown into something truly meaningful with the help of so many generous volunteers, supporters, and community members who helped bring the space to life.
The garden expansion represents more than just flowers and vegetables. It is a space designed for connection, wellness, and community.
Visitors explored the new garden beds, admired the bug hotel, and enjoyed spending time in a space intentionally created for people to gather, relax, and enjoy nature together. Families spent time with their children, members stopped to take in the beautiful surroundings, and many shared excitement for the vegetables and flowers that will continue growing throughout the season.
The new space was created to be somewhere people can:
Relax before or after a workout
Enjoy lunch outdoors
Spend time with family and friends
Connect with the community
Experience the positive impact of nature and wellness together
As a nonprofit organization, Ocean State Community Wellness believes wellness extends far beyond fitness alone. Creating spaces that encourage connection, movement, mental well being, and community support is a core part of the OSCW mission.
We are incredibly grateful for everyone who helped make this project possible and for the overwhelming support shown during the dedication celebration.
We hope this space continues to grow into something the entire community can enjoy for years to come. Want to be a part of the Ocean State Community? We'd love to meet you. Get started here.
